My gecko used to poop on the hammock. It's a good spot and is easy to clean. Now, for some reason, she changed her pooping spot. Now it's right next to her non-heated hide (it's actually on top/behind it). I cleaned that area but I left some poop on the hammock hoping that she would start pooping there again. She still poops near her non-heated hide.

So any tips on how to change her pooping area?

Rango does the exact same thing. He poops on his cool log hide, on and behind it. Such a pain. he used to poop next to his warm hide though an it always made the poop stink since it was on the hot side. No idea how to get them to change aside from moving things around. No matter where i put the log his poop fallows.

my females poop in a corner on their tile and it is a pain to clean, so I cut the lid of a sour cream container in the shape of the corner, taped it into place (tape folded and stuck to the bottom) and now they poop on it instead. When it gets dirty I can easily take it out and clean it.

Sounds like a "smart" gecko.
Doesn't want to lay in poop when it's resting in it's
hammock sleep area.
Take care. HJ

She doesn't sleep or rest on her hammock. She just poops there.

Now she poops where she actually sleeps/rests. So it's quite the opposite, really.

ya know, Kirin just starting doing that! He used to poo on the cool side of the tank, and is now pooing on the warm side. Maybe it's the weather? lol

So nobody has an answer? *sigh* alright then, I guess I'll just figure out a way.

Sure I got an answer.
Shake the poop hide temporarly.
Clean it good.
Replace in its area a piece of tile with an "out house" over it.
{see thread, things you can make}

http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=67834&highlight=Things+you+can+make

can load some of it's Old Poop onto this tile.
As you see poop a do being done.....
replace cleaned hide rock to another area of the tank.
take care.hj
