Gecko Coming Out at Night?

Hey Guys,

Last week I got a juvenile leopard gecko, (around 8 months). He is completely healthy in all aspects except for the fact that he doesn't drink his water and I'm also not sure if he's coming out at night. When I'm about to hit the hay, I check on him in his hide and his position, (I'm able to see him without disturbing him). The next morning, no water is gone from his bowl, and he's in the same position. I know I'm probably just being over-worried, but I just want to make sure if this is normal, (I'm new to these guys).

Thanks!
LN

Welcome to GF. It's not unusual for a new gecko to be very reclusive and not eat or drink until it gets used to the new place. In addition, some leopard geckos spend nearly all their time in their hides. If you notice white parts to the poop, you'll know it's drinking, but often you can't tell by looking at the water dish. It may come out more as it gets more comfortable.
