Did your gecko actually eat a beetle, or are you just asking if it can? Most geckos may snap at a beetle, but usually become uninterested thereafter because the shell is too hard for them to eat.

Some geckos will eat them but most (like all 4 of mine) will not touch them. They will watch them but never attempt to eat them. Not sure why. I just feed them to my turtles instead. They love them lol. The shell may be a little hard for them but people who have said their gecko eats beetles have not had any problems with it.

I had leopards come to me eating roaches, and would not touch worms so I tried a mealworm beatle to wean them off of roaches to mealworms. To say the least it worked.

you could feed them while they are light brown before the shell hardens

i know mine love the "alian" stange even if they are not moveing my geckos will still eat them

I would think they are too hard for a leo to eat and digest.
Why do you want to know? Did you run out of mealies? :)

nats, I just noticed that one of my gecko's likes the movement of them, they are always moving.

I have been putting 5 mw, 1 mw-beetle, and 2 dubai in their feeder bowls to give them some selection and refill when each is eaten. I figured this gives them some variety.

Perhaps I will try to only put the light colored ones in then.

Yeah, I guess they do move around alot. Even more than the mealies that they used to be. :D

To be honest, I never thought about feeding those to my leos.
When I have some, I will give it a try. My little mack snow girl will eat
almost ANYTHING that moves.
