GECKO GONE?
I did a thread a WHILE BACK
"LOST AND FOUND DEPT. (ESCAPEES)
Information on helping to find geckos that have escaped.
So two days in a row I have questioned my reason for allowing
a tank to be empty of the enjoyable part of the hobby.
Starring at a space empty of the little, live, loved one.
Cursing myself for not doing something ?? right.
Or just not keeping my mind directed to the task....like cleaning
the tank, feeding, handling, misplacing her in a different tank, etc.

LOST?

Day #1 The tank emptied of all furniture....
Already started looking for the little baby girl SS.
10 minutes into searching the close spots most likely for her to hide
but then: MIND FLASH ...BINGO.......HUMID HIDE between the layers
of paper towels. resting very calm......didn't even know she was being given all that attention..............HJ RELIEF BE NEAR.

LOST?

DAY #2 Another tank emptied of all furniture....
Already started looking for the little baby girl MS Squeeler.
10 minutes into searching the close spots most likely for her to hide
as yesterday's disappearance along with double checking the paper
layers in the humid hide........MIND FLASH....
Took up the carpet .... BINGO ....She had found another
glass window. The bottom of the tank. Crawled under her carpet.
AGAIN .HJ RELIEF.

So two more places to look for a somewhat LOST critter.
Did I hear someone once say this hobby relieved stress?
ALL take care. HJ

Hehehe... If theres one thing I've learned, HJ, is that these little angels will go out of their way sometimes to screw things up.
Don't want you to get too comfortable, you know?

Tommy you are sure correct....Those are great places to start
and also " I've still to hear of a gecko that wasn't located."
I had one escape and I found it while taking a shower the next
morning.....tucked in the folds of the shower curtain.
She slid out when I straightened the curtain. My cat went on "point"
like a bird dog when he found one coming out of a hiding place.
I had to get up to check out what caught his interest.....No Harm to it.

Take care. HJ

Haha, the one under the carpet sounds like my Mikko. Didn't see him in his tank so I got a little worried. Closer look and I see a foot and tail sticking out of the carpet :main_rolleyes:

I lost amber on cleaning day as you stated HJ (HI Conan) emptied the tank of all but one hide and had set the cage furniture on an ottoman I could have sworn she was in the last hide left in the tank so imagine my horror as I headed to to my tub of hot water only to look down and see Amber looking out of her humid hide as if to say "hi mom where we goin. I would seem cleaning time is dangerous.

Hi kathleen.
Yeah, I had been watching some magic acts just before that
day, and as you, I expected the last hide to contain mine.
Uncovered it and the first thought was, Oh no the disappearing
magic trick I just watched. But when I realized no magician
was present..........I started a panic attack.
But I'm glad this is termed a non stress hobby.
Take care. HJ
