Gecko got stuck in hide! I used lotion in get him out. help?

Hi there, just needed some advice. Heres the story. I have one of those faux skull hides in one of my vivs, my baby Timothy LOVES it. He's always in it. Last night, He decided to crawl through the eye hole, and i guess got stuck halfway through...well not really stuck, but just sort of sitting half in half out. I went over and put my hand in front of him and he easily crawled out for a cuddle.

BUT! This morning, Timmy crawled halfway through the nose hole of the skull and got stuck by his back legs and tail!!! I woke up to him just hanging there completely stuck in the hole the hole was only maybe 3/4 inch wide, i dont know how he got his fat belly through. I sorta panicked and put some non toxic lotion, the kind you use on tattoos, on his backside and told him to wiggle. several bites and coaxes and pulling later he got free, didnt even drop his tail, a miracle. I gave him a warm bath right after but theres still some lotion on his skin i think, its sorta shiny, and hes just flopping around looking very tired and not okay at all. his back legs look a little raw and red but no blood. I have no reptile vet within 50 miles, or else he'd be there. =[ I attached pictures of the skull and his flopping. any advice?

By his posture he looks to be in shock, more like extremely stressed. If he does not begin walking within half an hour I would take him to a vet immediately.

I just realized you said this morning and he is flopping around as in not walking? Take him to the vet asap!

no no he's walking fine. I just meant flopping as in laying down messily. He's always laid with his legs at weird angles. All my geckos do. XD And i can assure you he doesnt have Metabolic Bone Disease, if thats what you meant. He's a very healthy, strong and active gecko normally. I agree that he is in shock however. I've gave him a couple waxworms to raise his spirits, but other then that left him alone to destress. My main concern is the lotion I used to get him out, any irratation to his skin. i got as much off as i could but i dont want to stress him more with another bath.

yup definately no broken limbs =] i put him on one end of my bed and sat one the other and he crawled right over to he and is now nuzzled on my neck. such a sweetie. i just need to know how to get lotion of him, theres like a slick film on his butt. lol.

Now that is a relief. I have seen geckos after extreme stressful situations so I am totally aware of the limp posture that some will percieve as a skeletal injury. As for the emergency lotion it's no big deal. He just needs time to get over the traumatic experience.:)
Get rid of that hide please.

no kidding, im so glad he is alright, im actually crying I dont know what id do if i lost tim, he was my first leo. thanks for your help.

Already on it, its currently living in my trash can. I have no idea why he thought he could suddenly fit in that small hole!

It will be gone within a day or two.

Assuming all are getting the calcium they need, I have seen the strange leg positions when laying down in geckos who are overweight. I would suggest you stop feeding them waxworms. What supplements do you use and how often?

I have a calcuim dish in his tank constantly a calcium and vitamin mixture without D3, And i dust crickets every other time i buy them, so about twice a week, with D3 calc. They mostly eat mealworms and crickets, waxworms are a twice a month treat, not a staple.
