for the past few days my gecko hasn't moved from this one spot. it moves around in that spot but pretty much just changing the direction he is facing. when i mist him he drinks but i haven't seen him move. i've been up till 4 am and was still in that spot when i came in to check on him, is this normal?
i'm going to try puting him i different spot and see if he stays there or moves back to the other spot. he eats too, i put a plastic spoon of CGC (i think those are the 3 letters) and he licks it clean.

It's CGD~ it stands for Crested Gecko Diet ;)

How long have you had him? Can you post a picture of his enclosure? Have you seen any poop in different areas of the cage?

CGD, i knew that lol
i've had him since about a week before Christmas and i found some poop a week ago but not much. although last wednesday i was holding him and he layed the biggest terd on me. it was half an inch to 3/4 of an inch easy. they are normally small.
this is on older photo but its still the exact same set up only now im using eco carpet.
if your looking down onto the cage like in photo 2, he has been sitting stuck to the glass in the front left corner up top.

Your set up looks really nice :) How big is he? Maybe he feels lost in a cage that big? Usually under 20 grams they are kept in something smaller, but obviously he's eating if you found poop, so he definitely moves enough to locate his food. I don't think Id worry too much.

after i held him today i had him hop off my hand at the opposite side and he has moved since then. he must be a lazy gecko haha.
im not sure how much he weighs, i'll have to try and weigh him. the guy siad he was about a year old when i bought him
plus i fed him as i held him and he licked a good amount of CGD.

Can you explain this?

i dont understand how any cage for any animal is to big.. and a bad thing.. .

im not saying your wrong.. but i just dont understand it at all

if you have a young gecko, they will have a harder time exploring everything and might take them a long time to find their food.

Younger animals might can sometimes feel safer in tight quarters than in an open, sprawling tank. Practically, this can show itself in better eating and a more active animal. I can't personally speak about cresties, but leachianus are notorious for this and I have personally experienced it.

OP- You'll find that you get the "biggest terd" pretty often when you take them out. My crestie does it, and so do my leachies. It's obvious with the leachies that it's a self-defense thing, and I'd guess the same for the crestie.

A small cage is always recommended for baby cresties (and lots of other reptiles also) when they are young. Kevin explained the basic main reasons why.

But when they are older, the bigger the better ;)
