Gecko health question

Hi, my sons leopard gecko is having trouble with her eyes . They seem to be sunken in a little. And she doesn't want to keep then open. When she does open them her pupil seems to be having trouble adjusting. It goes from big to small to big again like she can not focus her eyes. She had also lost some weight and doesn't want to eat. We live in Maryland so we use coconut fiber as bedding to keep humidity up. Could that be the problem ? Should I switch to paper towels? Or could it be stuck shed? I don't know what to do to help her without making things worse. Any suggestions?

What brand/kind of light do you use?
I think it's a zoo med heat bulb from petsmart it's purple . I do cycles with the heat bulb because we live in maryland so nights get kindof cold here. She also has a heat pad underneath I'm not sure about the brand . We got it from Amazon.

Instead of the black light it would be better to use a CHE (Ceramic Heat Emitter) for heat without light at night. You can put it on a thermostat and a timer.

Aliza's suggestion about the vet is a good one.

Could your little guy be dehydrated? Sometimes that makes the eyes look sunken in.

OK thank you and yes she has a dish of water in her tank but I haven't seen her drinking for a while. I will try to get her to drink more and see if that's helps. Can I will contact a vet.
