Gecko Hearing

If I walk quietly up to my gecko's tank and make a small noise sometimes he will get startled and fly around the tank. Yet if I turn on the vacuum cleaner which is very loud and vacuum right under the table his tank is on he just lays there calmly.

Most reptiles don't have the sense of hearing as other animals do. Instead, they are very sensitive to vibration and motion.
