How many months old should be a male gecko sexually active? i tried breeding mine but it seems that the female is the one who is licking the male, not the opposite thing. What do i need to do?

It is probably best for the male to be at least 9 months so he's finished most of his growing and is sexually mature. I'm sure some males mature before 9 months but since they don't eat so much when they're breeding, it's good to have one slightly older. I have several males that I have almost never seen chasing the female or mating with her, yet I have had lots of babies. Some males are just shy. Keep them together for a few days (I actually keep my males with the females for the entire breeding season) and check for ovulation and egg production.

I work the same as Aliza, my breeding groups stay together the entire breeding season. So my best guess is that you have a male like our Monty who doesn't ever "show" what he's doing, yet manages to get the girls gravid. :) Just be patient.

No, they don't require an infrared lamp, an infrared lamp would be more for your purposes. If you wish to view them at night during their gecko-escapades, then you can use that as they cannot detect it. However, leopard geckos require one heat source (unless they're ill and need spine heat) and that's belly heat (to help with digesting of food, regulating temperature, etc., etc.).

Hope that helps. :)

The room temperature is not enough, you need the under the tank heater for proper digestion. They need to have a hot spot at 31-34 Celsius. :)
