I had a realy nice female Leo, she wlways was nice and never bit or squirmed when I picked her up. A couple of days ago I noticed something I accadentaly moved a lid from one of my scorpion cups and she turned and looked at my hand like it was food. So i moved my hand again and she ran at it and bit at it. I did it on the other side of the cage and she ran the other way and bit at my hand. So I decided to try and pick her up while I was going to pick her up she bit me. I thought she might just want out so I took her out and put her on my bed and she was perfectly calm. I let her stay out for about 20 minuets then I put her back and now every time I move near her cage she bites at me, and whenever I take her out of her cage she bites me but once shes out shes fine. I started holding her more and it hasnt seemed to help. any sugestions?

Thanks TY

Hmmm.. I am not sure, but our geckos jump and bite just because they think I am food. Once they realize that I am not, or I give them food and they are no longer hungry, they no longer try to bite me. Could she just be used to your hand dropping in food for her, so she is now trying to eat you?

We have another gecko that is male, and he always bites me, but I think it's because he is protecting the females that he lives with, or he thinks I am food as well, lol

Sorry if this doesn't help, it's all that really came to mind.

I was going to say the same thing, so I guess I'm no help either! :main_huh:
My leos are always trying to eat my fingers. They very quickly realize I'm not food, and back down. They have made the association, and your hand is an extension of their dinner!! :main_rolleyes:

ya that sounds possible. one time i had a mealie in my hand, and my baby stalked it and i accidentally dropped it but she was focused on my hand and bit it.

I dont know if this is a personallity change or not but........

Up untill a few days ago, my 4 month old female loved to eat mealies.

Now, she is just like my male, and wont touch them :main_angry:

Of course, they both still love waxies, but I cant feed those all the time!!

I did order 50 dubias last week, so I hope that will work out and they will
like those. I really want to find a good gut loader replacement for crickets.

Its not that I hate crix, but if I can find something easier (and less stinky!!), that would be great. But, it seems like my young leos change their likes and disslikes daily!!

LOL! when they are shedding, they do some crazy stuff.
I have had them re-arrange the whole cage and would find the paper towels wadded up in a corner!! :p

i wouldn't worry too much. my female blazing use to love me to take her out and hold her and let her run around. she even let me pet her rubbing her head and back. i got her a friend (a female temper albino). and now she never really cares to come out of the tank, doesn't let me handle her like i use to. but she's normally healthy just not my best bud anymore, so sad.
