My local pet store has a few leopard geckos. I hadn't been in for awhile, and when I did make it in, I was fairly shocked at their appearance. Two of the females had lost SIGNIFICANT weight in their tails and had distended torsos. In addition to significant amounts of stuck shed on both of them, one was COVERED in scabs and scars.
I went back in a few days later with my friend Khrysty, planning to talk the owner into giving them to us as rescues. Luckily, it went well. Before we even brought up taking them off her hands, she asked if we would like to care for them. At the end of the day I took home a beautiful female pair of Patternless Rainwater Albinos, named Sabuhi (41G) and Isra (49G, a significant portion of which is eggs).
I took them home on 5/9/10. Got all their stuck shed off, gave them some olive oil for any impaction issues from the Calci-Sand they were on, and let them settle in. They both ended up being gravid. Now...I'm wondering exactly what to do. Sabuhi is doing just fine, she laid her first egg a few days ago, and has an appetite.
Isra on the other hand, looks like she's carrying 3-4 eggs, and has barely eaten a thing. She's on paper towel and I've upped my temps alittle bit for her. She's got a moist hide and a calcium dish, as well as constant access to well dusted dubia nymphs. I'm considering a slurry diet, and warm baths. Is there anything else, husbandry-wise, that I should be doing?
