Hi, I'm pretty new to all this forum stuff so sorry if i have done it in the wrong section etc!

I have been at an animal care college for 3 years and know a lot of stuff about various animals (leopard geckos included)

I picked up my little fella from a friend as her brother wasnt looking after it properly..

anyway, more to the point, last night was his 2nd night here and about 4/5am this morning i woke up to him screeching, so i got up and looked for him and he was under his rock. i have typed in on google and youtube gecko screaming, but all it seems to be is isiots trying to pick them up by their tails!

If anyone can help me figure out what the screeching is?

Id hate to think he was in some sort of pain!

I'm assuming it's a baby. Baby leoaprd geckos screech when they feel threatened. It may have been as simple as it being startled or getting its foot caught under the rock. It will grow out of it.

Agree with Aliza. I've had a few babies where they would screech whenever I was opening their bin, providing food or water, or handling...then I've had some that are so skittish, they'll screech when I'm not even near the rack. Eventually they all grow out of it, though.

Agree with Aliza and Gex. My baby Lethe would screech when someone would walk by or the dogs' tags could be heard jingling. Thank goodness she's over that now, it was pretty hair-raising, LOL
