Gecko Shedding for first time, need advice

so my gecko is getting ready to shed (i mean he skin got duller, and now he's starting to become white, so I'm pretty sure that means shedding). And since he's my first, i want to make sure it goes good. So I have a moist paper towel in there in one of his caves, and I'm wondering how much do i have to spray him, and when to i start helping him pull off the skin.
Thanks

You don't need to spray the gecko itself just make sure that the humid hide is humid and doesn't dry out. Plus you don't need to "help" him pull off his skin. Leo's are pretty good at doing that because they eat it as it comes off, but sometimes some pieces get stuck on the toes and other random places. If you see that your gecko has stopped taking off his own shed and it's stuck around the toes/legs/tail whatever you take a wet q-tip and try to take it off that way.

well he finished shedding, should i clean up all the skin or does he eat that?

also he has a little left on his toes that he can't seem to get off. Should i assist him or let work it off on his own?

My Leo used to eat it as he was peeling it off if yours didn't I think you can remove it and just throw it out. If he's totally finished yes please help him take that skin off his toe, take a q-tip to moisten it and try gently rubbing it off if that doesn't work you might need to be a little more hands on.

PS. You don't want to leave shed on the toes for too long (i'm talking about a bunch of days or weeks) because the outgrown skin will soon cut off the circulation to that toe and it'll fall off.. So each time your gecko sheds check him over to make sure all the skin is gone.. especially toes, tip of tail and eyes..

Good Luck!

well now he's completely done, and thanks for the advice about his toes. The wet q-tip worked wonders.
