I love the screamers! I've found that the snows I've hatched have screamed way more than any other hatchling. I don't know why. Eventually, they calmed down and had some of the best personalities.

Yeah, they will all calm down if persistent about giving them a hand to relate to. Being our friend is really all up to us on the time spent for them.
Old song went like "getting to know you, getting to know all about you....................not sure if it was about geckos but what the heck............
lets sing it to them anyway.
Ready? Getting to know you.................
come on. No one can hear us.
Lets start again. That's better.
Hey maybe that's what her screaming was.
She may have known the words.
Take care Kristi.... Hj

Yeah Jessie she is feisty, but only a week old, and it was the first time
with my hand in her living quarters.
She is already relating good to my wet knuckle though.
Not much fuss the second time in and eating good.
She will be riding my hand
by the end of the week.

Voice of the past?

Are you sure you didn't hatch a Velociraptor? Wow! What a pair of pipes!

Now Kasey, you have a good point there.
I did hatch her from a pair brought from Mongolia.
Do you thing? maybe?? hummmm. No, surely not.
But maybe a tiny Jurassic Park in Indiana.
LOL
Take care. HJ

Yeah, we get quite a few screamers too.. we've had a few that would scream constantly like that, even when their bin was closed, and they were housed alone, I would hear them scream lol :main_rolleyes: :main_laugh:

Yeah that was just plain cruel. I dont see how that helped the gecko at all, if anything I would think itd make it worse for the gecko. Just give the little guy time and it will figure out that your hands in the cage are not a threat, instead of forcing the issue when it is obviously upset.

Not true.. showing the gecko that you're not going to hurt it is the best you can do for it.. they learn you are not a threat and stop screaming before too long. Like the video says, for experienced handlers only ;)

Hey Ken, thanks....glad you liked it.
It seems like after you get "hooked"on geckos .....
everything out there gecko related is enjoyable.
Even crazy old guys running around with a camera making
videos and calling it their "work day."
As my friends the meal worm beatles said:
Workin at doing nothing all day. LOL
You take care in that Bay Area. HJ
