Hi,

I have 2 leopard geckos that are about 9 months old. They are both female and are in a 20 gallon long tank. Recently the bigger one has stoped eating. In the last 18 days she has only eaten 4 crickets. She has also gone form 71g to 69g. She is still pretty active though, maybe even more than usual. The hot side is around 93-95F and the cool side is at 75F. What could be wrong ? Before this she was eating pretty much every night.

Two possibilities: she's ovulating and has temporarily stopped eating (you can find pictures of ovulation on the forum) or she has reached a size where she wants to eat a lot less. Check for ovulation and try feeding her every 2 or 3 days.

Ok, I looked to see if she might be ovulating but I didnt see anything. She did eat two superworms 3 days ago, but nothing since. The other one has now not eaten in 6 days or at least to my knowledge. They are both still active, but everytime I go to feed them they just seem to want out of the tank. They seem to prefer walking around on my bed over the food. I have them in a 20 gallon long right now, but maybe they would benefit from a larger tank so they can crawl around and explore more.

How long have you had them? Could there be a possibility that one is intimidating the other? If it is cold they may also be doing something called brumation (gecko semi-hybernating)...I noticed that when it gets cold here my leo eats a lot less. I'm not sure about superworms, but I don't use them...only mealworms and crickets (and occasionally a waxworm for a treat). Make sure they are still pooping at least once a week. Also since they are only 9 months, be sure the crickets and other food aren't too big (as they may be having issues digesting the hard cricket shell).

I have had them since october, but they were living in the same tank before I got them. I havent noticed any intimidation or anything like that. Its actually not cold at all here. Its oddly warm, which is not going so well for the olympics. So Im not sure if its brumation but it could be or maybe the warm weather is messing with them ? When they get crickets I feed them small/medium ones, I think thats the right size. They do still seem to be pooping. They are still really active they just always seem to want out of the tank.
