So, I have 7 leopard geckos that all eat superworms and mealworms. Since it is so expensive to buy every week I have my own colonies of each and only buy in large quantities...
Well yesterday I was sorting through some of the meal worms to get out the ones that had pupated so that the worms didn't eat them and Jazi- who is a black headed caique- was sitting next to me. Next thing I know, she's up on the edge of the container and cooing at the worms... I read that it is ok to feed caiques mealworms as a source of protien so I figured, "What the heck..."
I handed her one and she went to town!! It was gone within a minute!
So now I keep a little dish of them in her cage with oatmeal in it so that the worms can burrow and eat... Jazi loves this new treat and game of finding the worms in the oatmeal.
I have a feeling I will be buying lots more worms so that all my babies can eat!

But every bird that I've heard of trying them seems to LOVE them!
