Geckos make "sniffy" noise

Has anyone noticed their geckos making a "Sniffing" noise? Its like a dog that is sniffing but a lot quieter and kind of squeaky.

I first heard it a couple months ago with one of my geckos. I thought it was the beginnings of a URI but the gecko is perfectly fine. Its not a constant thing, just every once in a while. And now I have noticed some of my other geckos doing it as well.

I notice this too in a few of mine. Very random times and mostly from the geckos which are less used to handling.

maybe they are clearing their noses.

It's too bad there isn't more work done on the behavior of them. Less morph research, more behavior research! I have heard some crazy noises.

I thought maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was handling female and then male and vice versa. That the gecko was trying to really get the scent of the opposite sex?
