Geckos meeting male and female

right,


i ve been given a female leo but already have a male..
they are mingling in a box at the moment to get to know each other but the male has other ideas.....

any suggestions ?

If you put them together, they will mate. You will probably not see it happen either. If you don't want babies, get another tank.

fair enough i do want them to mate at some point, but shes just stressing because Molly isnt used to him

So you did not even quarentine before introducing the new gecko? I can not see how anyone would risk the health of their original leo's by throwing in a new one with such little information known.

the owner before me told me she was in good health and it should be okay, and i only asked on here to get more info thats all and before you ask they are fine together now

I would love to stress the importance of proper quarantine procedures but I feel it would be a lost cause at the moment.

the owner before me told me she was in good health and it should be okay

So the owner is a licensed vet and did a very extensive check up before giving her to you?
I didnt think so, just cause the owner thinks shes okay dosent mean squat. Case and point:

saw that on craigs list and the owner thought it was in great shape and said theyre supposed to look like that! You have to quarentine, never just take their word that theres nothing wrong with it.

molly doesnt look like that thank god.. i ve been to many different reptile places and they never said anything about keeping them apart so i just didnt know

I got a snake form an excellent breeder with top-notch animals, and he had pinworms. Looked, acted, ate perfectly well, but they were in the fecal I get done on all new additions. Quarantine is crucial for any new animal.
