Geckos that scare me

Any tips for working in the cage are appreciated. I hate chasing these things around the room or getting bit by 12+ inch long geckos.

The first one is still gaining weight.

Haha.. Welding gloves might help.

Or just leaving quite a few cork tubes in there and when you need to get them out just pull out the cork tubes.

When I was working at ebv.. I just used to go into the cage quick and grab them. Before they knew what was happening they were out.

Or you could just keep them in a HUGE cage and.... hopefully they won't be where you need to go.

Our Male Bayonaise Leachie is very cage aggressive. He nailed Tamara before. Lots of blood. :main_thumbsup:

I think these are Gecko smithii the Green Eyed Gecko. I always just thought of them as Green Tokays.

You have some very nice ones Brian. They look a lot better than any ones I have ever seen. Do you know where they were imported from? You got them from Marcus right?

Yeah Gekko smithii. Marcus said they come on two variations I think a locality thing. It's more a defensive aggression with these guys. They never charge you, but they did make a snap once.

Yes and ~$50 give or take $10. You understand they are big enough to cause some serious damage for a gecko at least. If you want to know more PM me.

Each of mine is snout to tail over a foot.

I keep tokays, and only been bitten once in years I have kept them, I dont generally handle them but know how to if need be. I have had several tokays over a foot, my one male I had for years was 14 inches, thank god it wasnt him that got me, it was his girl and that hurt enough lol.
