Gem snow questions

I'd be nice if I had some non het gems. It wasn't my intention to mix mack snow with gem snows continuously. I had this male here and my female gem wasn't old enough to breed but the male was. I was like eh what the hell why not. It made a pair of really pretty babies that's for sure. And now the only reason why I want to prove those 2 babies out is cause I wanna know what to call them. I could just go the easy route and call em macks but I don't plan on selling them so if I'm keeping em then it wont hurt to prove it out when they are old enough to be proven. My 2 gem snows that are for certain gem snows came from Nevin and Paul. They will be bred together this year and I should get some nice little gem raptors. Hopefully some more stripes out of the pair. I also intend to breed something else to my gem male this year. I have some hypos not het for anything. A bandit female that's not het for anything (she's not from tremper's line)... and various other stuff I can stick in with him lol. Gonna be a fun season.

only thing you can do is breed those 2 to a gem for at least 2 seasons to prove them out as being gems or not. I think the easiest route would be to sell them off as pets and move on.

If you do decide to keep them I wouldn't waste take in proving them out i'd just breed them to macks.

oh they are defiantly worth keeping. Even if I decided to just breed them to macks. They are gorgeous. I've saw people selling stripe mack snows that look almost as good as, or maybe a little better then my one I hatched from the pair for more then I would be willing to pay for a mack snow stripe. If anything I would defiantly breed it out to find out for the sake of having a really good stripe line of gems and striped gem raptors.

cheers guys get it now... didnt realise at least one mack gene had to be involved. I thought gem x gem could produce supers and so could tug x tug, but i get it now.
lol THAT would have made it hard to prove it out.

I agree with Ryan... Personally, I'd sell them as a pet-only. They are unique and pretty even as pets. Plus I am a bit of a purist and hate to see the "muddying" of the lines. Kind of like crossing the different albinos... it just gets confusing and difficult to figure out what you have. But that's just my opinion. :)
