Great looking gecko, but please tell me, what distinguishes a Gem Snow from a Mack Snow? I don't know much about this line of Snow and would certainly like to know more.

A Gem Snow is a dominant line of snows. Gem x Gem will give you Gems and Normals. Gem x Mack will yield supers. The Gems when crossed into other traits to exhibit some yellowing but not near as much as the Macks. But Gems have a better success of being able to line breed for a higher white and bold markings. With the Gems not yielding any supers they make a great line for line breeding projects.

Gem x Mack will yield supers.

So, assuming that the Gem Snows resulted randomly and were not a by-product of Mack Snows (correct me if I'm wrong), they are somehow still genetically linked to Macks?

Oh, and that is a sweet looking gecko above. Nice light silver coloration, I definitely see a distinction now. Thanks for explaining to me in your previous post.

That's pretty amazing and mysterious at the same time... that the different Snow genes, when combined, result in the same; a Mack Super Snow.

If a Gem x Mack cross produces a Mack Super Snow, would that particular Super Snow behave genetically like one (no influence of Gem in offspring if bred)?
