Hello,

This is probably a dumb question but I am new to this world of leopard gecko genetics, so forgive me.

If I breed a sunglow male with a standard female, what can the offsprings be? Only standard leos with no morphs?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Not sure on that. :/

So breeding those two I will always get normal colorations and patterns?

Plus if your normal is Het for anything you could get something else. What are the exact genetics? Where did you get them and were you informed of Hets.

I don't know about possible hets in the female's genetics as they wouldn't know at the store, so I am assuming that she probably has no hets and is just normal breed.

I wouldnt breed store bought as you have no idea what she may actually be het wise. (some morphs are always het for something, im not well informed on sunglows.)

Sunglow, by definition, is a hypo tangerine albino. Assuming the female is not heterozygous for anything, the offspring will be 100% het for whichever strain of albino. In addition, half of the offspring should be hypomelanistic, and possibly showing tangerine coloration, as both of those traits are typically transferred in a co-dominant fashion.

beat me to it haha ^^
sunglows are albino shtct, if you breed with a normal you will get normals/hypos with varying tangerine influence depending het albino, but as stated above I wouldnt breed anything from a petshop since that normal can be het anything and crossing different albino strains would be bad..

Listen to this person they know more then me. lol. However, i might add that since your leos are store bought there may be unknown hets so what we tell you may not be exactly what you get.

The other issue is that this can create some unknowns in the offspring which makes them less likley to be sold for breeding until proven out.
