ive read it. erm i dunno if you should get it. its hard to recommend. its very easy to learn the genetics of leo's without this book. the book goes more into the full biology and technical explanations. its really in depth and long winded and extremely complicated. but if your wanting to learn literally the amount a biology proffessor nknows about genetics then go for it.

But i read it, and got half way through and just thought 'whu....??' and then it got to a chapter called 'the advanced stuff' lol.

LOL...that part actually made me laugh. I guess it's too advanced for me. Online it will be. The basics will get me through I guess.

Thanks:main_thumbsup:

yeh it really will. ive read it and never applied the knowledge because its just to much of the actual sciencey stuff and hard to apply to actual leo's, but if you just learn it directly about leo's its fine.

just read around this site and ask questions, another good site to look at is leopardgeckowiki, this tells you alot of the traits and what type of trait they are.

Honestly it's a great book. If you want to breed geckos then I highly suggest getting it. It's always nice to have more info then really needed. Then again I'm all about the educating thy self

a better book for breeding leos and stuff is ron trempers 'the herpetoculture of leopard gecko's' , IMO its way better than the genetics for herpers book. this has got morphs, genetics, ontogeny, the lot. highly recommend it. great book.

This one is also on my list :) Is it out dated at all? Or is it timeless? I was just wondering if they had anything different than what I could find out online really?

well its from 2004 or 2005 so the info as such is still very relevant, the disease section is much the sameas a newer book. the genetics is too. the morphs are reasonably up to date. but are missing a few of the newer ones. it goes up to sort of Raptor coming out. doesnt include Diablo blanco or novas or anything. but its still a very good book to refer to. for any newer morphs theres always the geckowiki. :)

honestly its really good, i keep going back to it and reading bits again. Had it quite a while and i still find it useful. and im pretty certain you will too.
