I'm getting a new girl next week for my little Silkie Hugo.
Meet Huguette ;)

The picture is from http://bloodbankdragons.com/

I picked a very smooth girl, so my Silkie won't hurt himself in two years or so when he will be "allowed" to meet his long promised.... :main_evilgrin:

she is beautiful!!! is she about his age?

Yes, they're about the same; she's a few weeks older. But in two years, that won't matter :)

I think she might be growing faster; I've read a couple of OLD (I mean, from 2007-2009) articles about Silkbacks on geckoforums, and people back then speculated that Silkbacks digest food slower since they cannot be exposed to the same heat as ordinary dragons, and therefore must grow slower... Don't know if that's true; Hugo doesn't mind his basking/heat lamp. I'll see soon, because I have to raise them at the same time ;)

If I can find that old thread, I'll bump it, so you can read it. It's very interesting. I bet people's opinions have changed a lot since then. Back then, many were opposed to breeding Silkbacks; some even talked about culling, thinking it's a disability or so. Would be interesting to see new research and new experiences.... They are not so uncommon anymore, and they are not so overpriced anymore, either.

I read part of it (my attention span is nil right now lol)... I can't believe people would say that though! How is that different than an albino... ?

Anyway, I'll be super excited to see pictures of her when you get her (and more pictures of Hugo too!)

Random as this is... I find more BD help on a gecko forum than I do on my BD forum lol
