Ok, so my AC is out, I went to check on my Leos and the temps were up in the 90s! So I turned off the UTH and everything trying to get it to drop...now they're lower...but not where they should be any suggestions? I've got fans on and everything (got a 4 month old baby gotta keep cool)

How about bagging some ice & wrapping it up in paper towels? They may not sit on it, but near it should be cooler. I'm guessing, but it's worth a shot.

I just let them wait it out. Because I have my thermostats, the UTH's aren't running when it gets this hot. The geckos are mostly sacked out in the lay boxes which are a bit cooler. My AFT is out of his burrows. The only one who gets special treatment in this weather is my crestie who spends the days in his special basement condo where it's in the mid-70's. I have no AC and don't plan to get it.

It helped mine cool down. With everything undone it's been staying around 84-85ish

I worry about this with mine as well... when they have been left all day without me there to keep an eye on the temps its usually 90+... I'm worried as everything I have read says they need a hot side which is 90ish.. and a cold side which is 70ish... but I haven't managed to get this right yet it's either hot or cold in there. What do you think is the best way to get the cooler side to stay cool... i am thinking of putting more vents in this side but then it may be too cold.... so I don't know :main_huh:

I may be wrong, but I feel that if they're heat tolerant then if there's a heat wave and the cool side gets kind of hot, it's OK for a little while. I guess it's a different story if you live in a climate where it's always 90-100. I think the most important thing is that the geckos not be permanently without a temperature gradient. One thing that might help some on these hot days is to put the humid hide on the "cool" side and keep it wet.
