Ive had 4 hatchlings so far, all SHT's.
Dad is 90g
Mom hovers around 60g when not breeding

Here is the odd part, some of there hatchlings are huge compaired to others.

Hatchling 1 was hatched 5-3-10, his weight is currently 11g
Hatchling 2 was hatched 5-22-10, his weight is currently 10g
Hatchling 3 was hatched 6-6-10, his weight is currently 8g
Hatchling 4 was hatched 6-7-10 his weight is currently 12g??

Hatchling 1 was big but stopped putting on much weight and started growing longer.
Hatchling 2 was cut out of the egg and was only 2g and dident eat for the first 2 weeks of his life
Hatchling 3 looks pretty average
Hatchling 4 was big to start, he hatched at about 4g, now he just looks massive, longer and fatter than hatchling 1 which is over 2months old.

Whats going on here?

I have 3 HTCT hatchlings. 2 of them hatched 4/24 and the other 5/1. All 3 of them are over 30g.. So I know how you feel.. All of my babies were getting fed 2 times a day with meal worms but now they get fed every 2 days. They are still growing like mad though. All 3 of them are already a little over 6 inches in length.. BTW, they are all 3 for sale..lol

The hard part with giants is you have to wait until they are fully grown adults to be 100% sure they are actually a giant. Some people classify a giant at 100g+ and 10in+ long. You may have fast growing geckos who will hit the 100g mark. I have a male SHTCTB thats 100g and he is pretty long, havent measured him yet. But he is not a known giant. So it could be these geckos getting fed soo well by their amazing owners :grin2:

But you have to think about a fat person that is short and a big person that is tall. A fat gecko that weighs that much and doesnt meet height requirements is a heavyset gecko, but a gecko that is long and large is a different story

these guys are not fat they are long and lengthy. the dad is 10in and 91g so i guess there cant be giants genes, its odd though how they can vary in size so much.

They can vary alot more than that, ive got some that wind up 15g appart by the 30g-50g range. And I have some non giants in the 70g-90g range, but they do all look a little chubby.
