I hatched him out 5 weeks ago and he is now 17 grams. He didn't eat for the first 8 days, but grows like a weed ever since. He came from JGA X giant tang albino. Could he be a super giant maybe since he went from 9 grams 10 days ago to 17 tonight?

Yes Val and Ryan, this is Wilma's sole hatchling :)

Id say definitely a Gaint. look how long his tail is. Giants usually have longer tails than a normal gecko, heck that guy looks like he has a tail and a half ;-)

Oh, I know he must be a giant , but HMMM, might I have the 25% chance.. SUPER giant with his growth rate? I couldn't believe I opened the right bin when I seen his size!

That head just gets more and more tang every shed, I am hoping he gets a completely carrotted out head. His bands are getting slightly orange too after the last shed.

Val my friend, thanks for Wilma!! Her price went up if you want her back :p

Honestly, I think the whole super giant deal is pointless. Every gecko grows at a different rate, and some giants have longer tails than others. There's no way to be certain a super giant is a super. Sure people may have weight and length guides, but when it comes down to it, it's just a guess/speculation. I mean we have normals that are bigger than some of our giants. I think if you want to call something a super giant, don't start guessing early. Wait until they're 2 years old and safely done growing (hopefully). If by then, the gecko is just massive in size and weight...sure, call it a super giant.

That's just my 2 pennies.

BTW, I love that gecko!

Great point Ryan and YES you have massive geckos!

I will bring him to the show for you and Val to see. He's way nicer in person.

ok, ...dumb question..like mack snow, giant is a co-dom trait...Theoretically...So that would mean giant to giant breeding would be 50% giant 50% Super right?. And Super to Super would be 100% super, Right?
I could understand not being able to call it Giant/super from giant to giant, or giant to w/o trait, untill it was fully grown...

Actually giant(or mack snow) X giant(or mack snow) will give you

25% no trait
50% giant or mack snow
25% super giant or super snow

The simplest way to explain codom is..

visible het with the homo form being the super.

super X super give 100% super

Super giant X giant gives 50% giant/ 50% super giant
