Hi everyone, we are going up to the White Plains, NY reptile expo in September, I'm very excited.

We want to try and find a pretty, young, inexpensive female cresty to add to our current pair that are trying to produce a healthy clutch for us. So far my female laid her first but we aren't sure if they are alive or not. Giving it time. Been well over 3 weeks now and no molding or anything. Cross your fingers.

My question/s are as follows...
We have the 18 x 18 x 24 exo terra. Lots of plants and hides and a humid hide/nest box. How many adult females can live in there? If we can have up to three, we will house Striker (our proven breeding male) live in his own 10 gallon set up during the winter so he doesn't stress the females.

We are also hoping for a good deal on the SMALL zoo-med enclosures (the ones that look like the exo-terra). We want to get two of them for babies/juvies. Once we determine the sex we will split them into females and males (sell males quickly so no one fights with each other). Do you recommend this idea? If not, what do you suggest and keep in mind they will all be living in the living room so it has to look pleasing to the eye and we will spend a fefw extra dollars for that.

Also, whats the BEST diet for hatchlings? I mean, my god they are tiny little things and I'm not sure I can find tiny enough crickets/pin heads local enough to me. Do they eat the rapashi/CGD? I'm getting mixed reviews online and from local breeders.

When we go to look for our new female, what should we be on the look out for? As far as size/health/etc. I want a healthy one of course, but don't want to spend $300! Any recommended breeders you know of that go to the expo each year?

Thanks for any help you can give. We are trying to learn as much as we can. We are very interested in their breeding but want to do things right. :)

I would only put one gecko in the 18 x 18 x 24 exo terra. Also 10 gallons is too small for the male. Try to get another 18 x 18 x 24 exo terra or larger.

I like housing hatchlings separated, as this year I only had two breeding females. If you had a ton of females laying eggs and a ton of hatchlings, then maybe multiple geckos per enclosure, but with juost one or two females, you could easily house them separately. Using the kritter keepers, you could easily house separately. LLL has good deals on them; I like the smalls as they last longer, but I have minis that I use for a bit to start (only becuase I have them not because they're really needed).

CGD for hatchlings. I don't feed crickets to hatchlings until they're two months. None of my hatchlings have cared for crickets until they're a bit older anyway. But I've found after 2-3 months mine have started chowing down on crickets.

Look for healthy... No tail kinks. I don't know if you're looking for a particular morph, but just look for healthy.
