I'm going to be picking up a golden tomorrow morning. I have been searching the net for care sheets and forums posts on any info related to these guys. I'm sure I have all the info I need, but would like any tips anyone with hands on experience I can get. Anyone keep these or have kept them in the past? Any tips on heat, feeding, substrate, cage size, or anything else you can think of?

I'll post pics when I get him setup in his new home.

Heres the pics I promised:

Picked him up earlier today. Hes in relatively good shape for being a free reptile off of craigslist. It does look like hes dropped his tail twice. Ill get more pics in a couple of days after the stress of the long trip is gone

Very nice golden :), I had one in the past very cool geckos. Your set-up looks good, just make sure their is plenty of cover and hides. Mist the cage good daily to help with hummidity and for drinking. I fed mine crickets but they will eat babyfood from what I have read.

Ive had one for like eight years now, eats fruitstuff, fresh and babyfood. Very hardy, can tolerate the cold, heat here in central fla doesnt seem to bother it. Lives in a ten gallon, peat moss substrate, some fake pothos, and a stick. Coexists with American roaches that escaped fate and setup a refuge camp under and in his perch. also a Mad hissing roach, and of late, a young female.

He lived on American roaches for years before I got a job at Glades and started bringing home crickets, but he doesnt seem to eat much these days, though a big katdid hopping around usually does the trick.
