So Saturday morning (19th), I'll be going away for 4 days until the 23rd, and I have a female who's been holding onto her eggs for about 5 weeks now (she is a first timer, and held on to her first clutch for about 4 weeks, this clutch that im expecting is her 2nd), and is constantly in her laybox digging around, and I think she might FINALLY be about to lay...but if she doesn't lay tomorrow, and I go away for 4 days, what should I do about the eggs if they are laid? Moisten up the laybox a lot and just let the eggs sit there? temperatures don't go too crazy in the room where my geckos are, it should be around 79-82 degrees around...

My sister will be home during this time, but I don't know if I completely trust her with eggs aha...She can handle filling up food dishes/ refilling water...but eggs can be tricky business that I don't know if I trust her doing it...BTW she is older than me, but we're kind of that typical arguing-type siblings :main_rolleyes:, so I dunno...

What do you say I should do? :main_huh:

if your temps stay in the low 80's and you REALLY dont trust your sister I think they COULD make it. It woudl be better to have your sister put them in an already setup incubator but its your call.

Is there anyone your sister could call to come and handle the eggs? Or could the laybox be removed and put into a larger container in the incubator? Then you could deal with it when you get home and the eggs wouldn't have been disturbed.

Don't tell her about the eggs then... When you come home take them out and put them in the bator.

I'm glad she laid for you. When I have to go away I make sure the lay box substrate is wet and move it so it's over the warm side.
