I know, I know... I'm completely ate up...
The point is, he doesn't LIKE sand. It makes his feet dirty!

Yes, my freakin' lizard has his own bed.

This is him this morning.

Tim says I'm afflicted...

And yes, his bed has a dust ruffel, pillow, matress, quilt, sheets... the whole 9 yards...

Yup... I'm nuts.

Aw, so does he just lay there and sleep all night? Wild.

Yup!
He gets tucked in when the sun goes down and stays there. In the morning, he lays there, staring out the window or watching TV until we get him up for breakfast.

Spoiled rotten to the core.

does he watch TV kind of "zoned" in to it? I had a chinese water dragon that would literally sit and watch TV zoned in to it like it was a cricket running about screaming eat me.

That's hilarious....it's crazy what we do for our animals. Of course, I guess it's not that much different from like dressing up your dog and such, after all they're our pets :).

Since his old cage broke while back, he has been a "free roamin' man."
We tried him in a new cage.He protested. Alot. (He piled all the typical furnishing up in one corner, banged his waterdish on the glass and climbed to the top and tried to break through the screen.)

He wakes up in the morning. Waits quietly for me to get him out of bed (or he'd stay there all day), has some breakfast, takes a bath, goes potty, then, weather permitting, he plays on the back porch most of the day. If its too cold, he hangs on the couch or in his "room" which is situated right in front of the window.

This is the same lizard that:
Swipes Oreos
Prefers marshmellows to fruit
Dive bombed into my daughter's plate of lo mein
Will frisk you if you sit on his couch and don't offer him food
And his favorite food is cheese calzone. (But we don't give it to him often)
He rides on my dashboard, munching on a french fry, watching traffic.

I really think he has no idea he's a lizard.

My daughter sat on the couch the other day with no food and multicolored dangly earrings. Bad combo. He grabbed a hold of her earring and started pulling. One would think because they were brightly colored, maybe resembling fruit. I tend to believe it may have been because they looked more like Skittles.

No kidding, if you sit on the couch and don't offer him something, he will crawl all over you, dig in your pockets, look down your shirt and check out your sleeves looking for where you've hid the stash. Ever been molested by a dragon? Not as much fun as you think...

Honestly, I have never been one to "humanize" an animal. This guy is just amazing, though. I know he's completely distorting my view on how a beardie is supposd to behave.

Oh, and he's also a "nuzzler" when he gets tired or feels insecure. He's just too cute!

Thank you, folks.
This guy is such a nut and I just love him to death. :)
Don't know if all beardies act like this, but if they do, I'm hooked!

He is an amazing dragon!!

Spoiled-Naw-not much-lol

While all Beardies may not be as calm and interactive as yours is-for the most part with regular interaction -they are almost affectionate to their keepers and very inquisitive/comical and of course endearing

It is not uncommon for them to sleep covered so you just took it one step further than simply placing a towel or cloth in the tank
That is an adorable bed!

I see NP with the way that he lives-he sounds very happy "free roaming" and I am sure that you have "Beardie Proofed" your home for him

How wonderful to have such an animal that you enjoy and that enjoys your company so much

Thanks so much for the big smile that I got from this post

Thank you, Sandy.:D
We just got back from the grocery store, so he has made his way into the kitchen and is "helping" dad go through bags.
He's such a weirdo. But I love him.:p
