Good news and bad news

Well I've had a tumultuous week of bad and good news.

I got fired on Monday (I have migraines and major depression and have missed too much work).

My first female leo, a SHTCT poss het bell, went eggbound on 5/7 and nothing I tried saved her and she passed on Wednesday night.

One of her eggs from her very first clutch hatched last night - a beautiful bouncing baby high yellow (pop is a high yellow). BUT she has a deformed right front foot and her yolk sac is still external. sigh. She's in her own little tub on wet paper towels on an UTH under half the tub. I half to go out of town overnight, so it will be up to the leo goddess to see that she makes it or not. But AsNi's very first eggs were fertile! It wasn't all in vain! Hopefully one of the other 3 eggs will be a totally healthy little hatchling!

Nemo and fellow clutchmate :)

Is the clutchmate a bell?

(mom was a poss het bell, pop was a high yellow normal unknown hets pet store)

Oh yeah - Nemo has made it through the night and is running every which way trying to escape the big ugly humans. The left over yolk sac/or umbilicus or whatever has come off and all looks good. Now to await first poop, first shed and first eating. And deciding to keep or sell the non-Nemo one ;)

And awaiting to see if AsNi's other 3 eggs are fertile or not!

Hot dog :)

Well, I guess that means that if it's a gal, she might just have to be bred back to Dad ;)

I'm still upset over losing the mother, but it's dern kewl to find out with the first clutch that she was indeed het bell and unbeknown to me (or Pet Supplies Plus who sold me the Dad for $12.50!!!) that Dad was a het bell!

I'll try to get new pics in a day or two to post and see if peeps think they have abnormal eyelids still. I wasn't sure about the normal gal. The albino its seems to be more of a light issue with the flash thing I think.

They were exploring their cage, so I shot a few pics tonight. NEMO's eyes do seem a bit funky now that a look at them, and the bell might have something wrong with the bottom lid of the left. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow and after the first shed. Dern it now.

In their own cage with water and calcium dish awaiting first shed and BM, and if I don’t see that in another 2 days, will start placing tiny mealies in a bowl to see if I can get them to eat anyway! They have hides on the warm and cool sides and an UTH, with the warm hide papertowels moistened! I’m such a wussy new mommy. It’s so hard not to keep running in and checking on them!

Nemo does appear to have hatched without the lower eyelids, and a crooked front limb. Is there a possibility he broke the front right leg on the day it hatched?

Nemo was just coming out of the egg (tail and feet) when I found her/him that day and the foot was already like that. it already felt stiff. I felt it to see if there was any chance of splinting it that day in a normal position ans since it already felt frozen in that position, I didn't even try.

Since these 2 were AsNuri's first clutch maybe Nemo was the first follicle. AsNuri was fertile on the very first 2 eggs ever. I incubated on a lark, never expecting them to be fertile since I never saw action and the pair were only together for about an hour!

The murphy patternless is getting supplemented on an even more rigorous schedule (I foresee excel spreadsheets in the future when my type A personality comes out above the migraines and depression) to try to overcome any issues I may have caused to AsNi with malnutrition supplement-wise that may have led to deformities and egg-binding. She lost so much weight too! WOW! The patternless is going to be bulked up like even twice more to what I had AsNi befor I breed her!
