Okay so when I was there some kids come in and said that they had a leopard gecko that they didn't want anymore and was just going to give it to the store but when I seen it I felt so sorry for it that I asked if I could have it and they said yes. When I got home I put him in his new tank. He was so cold and basically plastered himself to the floor where the UTH is and stayed there for like 2 hours before he finally relaxed and started to move around to investigate his new home. But I did get him to eat 2 crickets.... I know that isn't much but it made me happy that he ate something... But anyways here he is.... (26.1 grams).....

Awww, the male doesn't look so good, but with some extra care and attention, he will hopefully bounce back to a nice, healthy weight  I recommend feeding him some slurry WITH the optional pills mixed in, along with trying to feed him regular live food, daily. The pills in the slurry will help his digestive track, among other things.. looks like he needs it. Best of luck with him!!!!

PS - the females are all beautiful :)

Yes the slurry for him and whatever live food you can get him to eat and the livefood be very well gutloaded. Also with the slurry i suggest straining it somehow if your blender doesn't get it completely smooth which ours didnt but once you strain it its like a really nasty smoothie lol. Much luck with him he looks at least active which is a plus i think he will turn around.

If the gecko is taking live prey items i would shy away from the slurry. i would feed a higher fat content feeder and let the weight come on naturally. From everything that Marcia has said the slurry is for geckos that will NOT eat or to help ill animals that are on medication for their illness.

Also by higher fat content feeder i would go with something around the super worm to meal worm area. Crickets and Roaches are great feeders but have a higher protein to fat ratio.

As always dust with vitamins and cal w/ and w/o D3.

Thank you everyone.... usually I have meal worms but I didn't realize how low I got on them till they was almost gone so I'm waiting on them to get here (which should be today) so I got Crickets for them to eat right now.... Vitamins and Calcium with D3 is one of the first things I put in the cages with them.... All the females started licking it up like there was no tomorrow.... One of the females sat there for every bit of an hour going back and forth from the two..... He ate a little bit of his... So that also made me happy....

I also think if he's eating then just keep feeding him the food GUTLOADED and good vit./min. calcuim powder is the key- Shake n bake them all!!!! And put a little lid w/ the vit/min/ calcuim powder in the tank w/ him. Gald that's he's eaten that u took him and they got there when you did. Sounds like he just needed some heat and food!
