Got a gecko...what is he!!!!

Someone gave me this gecko as a rescue and i wanted to know what he is. I put all the general gecko stuff in with him and he seems happy. I will also include a image of his habitat :) I currently have frogs so i had quite a few tanks laying around :) he seems happy in the hide right now as its winter

Cant really tell by the pics but kinda looks like a tokay? I think tokays are more rain forest geckos, not desert. If thats what he is anyways lol.. Someone else may be able to help you out more

thats a mediterranean gecko, some call them house geckos. you need to get him off the sand. here is a care sheet link. they need more humidity than leos. and as they are an introduced species, please don't release him/her back into the wild.

thats what we thought but we had read soooo much backwards information online. He is currently hiding in his fake rock thats on the side of the tank. We havnt seen him eat but we were glad to try help him out....ofcourse we are not planning to release him.
