Hey everyone, kind of short on time so I'll try and cut to the point. I've got some eggs incubating right now and one is pretty far along, even close to about time it should hatch. I'm leaving out of town on Friday evening and am kind of worried it will end up hatching right about the time I'm gone, but I just can't say 100% for sure. Based on my history of hatching eggs, it should be right in the time frame though.
I will be gone until Sunday night, so my question is, would it be safe for me to remove the egg from the G.E.O. and just put it in the designated enclosure, closer to the warm side, just in case it hatches while i'm gone, so it will already be in the enclosure?
I'm just worried if it hatches on Friday night or even Saturday morning, it will be sitting in the GEO until Sunday night, and possibly suffocating. I know the GEO has a pinhole in the top but I wasn't sure if that would be enough for air for the hatchling, especially for two days, possibly three.
I've never been in this situation so I wasn't sure what to do as well being for my hatchlings is priority. I was also worried if I left the egg in the enclosure for two or three days and didn't hatch by some chance, that it would end up doing damage to the egg. The room will stay around 75-80 degrees while I'm gone, but I don't have anyone else to back me up to see if it hatches while I'm gone.
Thanks for bearing with my long winded question.
