And I love them!

She actually got in my hand while i was putting some new stuff in there so i held her for a bit. I put her back in and had to gently shoo her off my hand.

She is unamused by the whole mess and she ignored my uncluttered corner and pooped in the tight space corner so i had to move everything lol.

As you can see she had to inspect everything as soon as I moved it.

I am so happy with them. We are moving in a heater to this room to keep everyone (including the sniffly rattys) nice and toasty

Pretty girls. Looks like they have a TON of room. What size tank? Also the sniffley rats... how are you keeping them? what's your experience keeping rats. I use to keep a small colony for my snake and also some pets maybe I could help with some care ideas.

It's a 20G Long

Oh I already took my babys to the vet, they are on Baytril twice a day for I think 7 days, maybe 10, I have to look at the bottle

Cool. I would do it the 10 tho even if the order says 7. You don't need a relapse and they do tend to so easily after sniffles.

I like your set up. What's your substrait?

by sayng 'your moving a heater into the room keep everyone warm' have you not got an UTH (under tank heater) for your geckos?
because they need their own heat source not just a hot room lol.

Thanks. I have an UTH I'm just one who would like to be CERTAIN everyone is toasty in case of any new drafts this winter. We think we have everything fixed up, but you never know till it gets chilly. Also, sometimes I myself have issues with not realizing im cold (even if they animals have heat ill just not notice im cold) everyone but the rats have uth and the snake has a night colored light and the anole has a night light and a day light.

I am a very thorough pet owner. and paranoid, i check everyone twice before bed, twice in the morning, every couple hours through the day, etc etc.

I probably will use the Baytril 10 days regardless


ALSO Substrate is Eco Earth Compressed coconut bark. its same for leo's. also i have some sand which i might switch out or mix with what im using. waiting on the breeders ok. id prefer to use JUST sand but, whatever he says!

yeah I haven't heard too much good about using sand with all the impaction horror stories, unless you're gonna feed in another tank to make sure they don't ingest any of it. I like the set up the way you have it honestly It's Purty

I miss owning ratties. My last boy had nasal problems and he was always sneezy. Even after a round of antibiotics. I think he was just defective like that, but I still <3ed him.

For being such hearty creatures, pet rats sure can be sensitive to their environment.

Most pet rats have Mycoplasma pulmonis and it can be managed but it can also be deadly. Mine just have a generic upper respritory infection
