Gracie is worrying me (Poop related) **UPDATE**

I've posted about my rehab gecko, Grace. She's had a dish of mealworms in her tank at all times and has been eating them. Monday she had a slightly runny poop.... but it was her second day home so I called it stress. Today, she has a new poop... and it looks like a barely digested mealworm. :S Sort of..pinky-flesh tone, worm shaped, runny as well.... and extremely foul smelling. Maybe she ate too many and regurgitated it? There ARE several missing..

**UPDATE**

Today I found a stool... perfectly firm, NOT runny like the last one, so YAY for that, but, also... what looks like more regurgitation... but far more digested. She still seems comfortable, bright eyed and alert.... but I'm scared of that scary "C" word.

Yeah sounds like she regurged. I took in a group of rescue juvi's too that were skinny as I had ever seen. A few ate 12 mealies the first feeding and regurged. They have since almost tripled in growth and weight.

if she has not regurgitated before, she might have just ate too much. i wouldn't change a thing unless she keeps on regurgitating.

sometimes they will gorge themselves and throw up. generally if they do that and that is the case, they don't do it again. if it happens again you may want to take her to the vet and get her tested for parasites, infections etc.

:main_yes: With any rescue that we take in it seems that they are so starved and I will say almost all are fed crickets on occasion that when a bowl of mealies are left there they just buffet it up.

Just be really careful with your other animals. Don't switch cage furniture and attend to Grace's needs last(giving her medication, feeding, cleaning). Have you found a vet that can do fecal exams in your area?

Not yet.

I may have found some of the problem... Grace's UTH conked out at some point and she's been a little cold. :S bad mom, i know. I was barely home yesterday but it was fine on Tuesday. I've stolen someone elses UTH for the time being and am going to replace the broken one tonight. That's my first UTH that has ever just conked out and of course it was Grace's.

haha here at GF we know with the leopard geckos if it's not one thing it's another! Definitely not a bad gecko mommy though, you are doing a great job seeking out help for Grace :)

Thanks. :) My mom agreed to lend me the money to buy a new UTH tonight so that's a relief. I'm a totally broke college student right now who gets paid tomorrow but my mom understands and agreed to give me the money so she can get it tonight instead. I hope this helps! I want to get her a few wax worms as well.

Waiting for an email back from the exotics vet in town... I'll call if it gets to an urgent point but I want to see if the better heat helps.
