Grams vs Ounces

Just a curiosity, why does everyone weigh in Grams and not Ounces. Is that just the standard?

Because it's much more accurate. If you have a 40 gram gecko, what do you call it in ounces? Almost an ounce and a half?

That's why i was wondering. IM use to saying ounces. It makes sense for accuracy. Thank you.

Metric measurements are also the most widely used among the scientific community, at least in biology, and herpetoculture has strong, recent, ties to the herpetology community. The books tend to be written by people who are most comfortable using metric units.

Although it mostly just makes me go off on a rant about the inadequacies of math using base ten.
