Gravid female not eating

My gravid female is not eating and start not eating about 2 days ago. I know this normally means she is preparing to lay but the first time she layed she didnt eat only for 1 day and then layed the following night. \


How many days of hunger strike will she go on this time? Any way of knowing

i have no clue this happend to me once but i almost lost my female and ended up feeding her slurry for 4 to 5 weeks i hope this dosnt happen to you

Most of mine will stop eating about a week before laying and then start eating again right after they lay.

Allright gyus i will keep you updated on her feeding habits. By the look of it she is about to lay as she is huge. Hopefully thats the case.:main_thumbsup:

I've had females who eat fine all through the season and others who get pretty picky about eating. I wouldn't stress too much about it, just make sure she has food available daily after laying to keep her fattened and her calcium up.

I lost 4 females this year from not eating while laying. They always had crickets and mealworms available but wouldnt touch either.

Fire did you ever try roaches, pinkies, slurry ??

I tried Lateralis roaches a couple times, they didnt go for those either.

I agree, some of them jsut don't eat when they are about to lay. I would imagine that space gets a little tight as those eggs start to swell.

Good news today or last night actually she laid and just as promptly she ate.

About 10 superworms and 5 crickets.

I am super happy that she is eating again.

Good to read. Mine behave similarly. For last five or so days before her last clutch, one of my females refused all food. The day after laying, she ate three pinkies.
