Gravid gecko... help please!

My female leopard gecko is gravid and she hasn't been eating at first (which is expected I know) and then she gained about five grams. Then she started eating a little bit and then she lost some of the weight. I have also noticed that her tail is a little smaller than it used to be. Is this normal for a gravid female? Also is sta-green a good brand of vermiculite?

While a female is gravid they will have various eating habits. She will go off food randomly or when she is close to laying. She will also usually go off food around her pre-lay shed as well. It is perfectly normal for females to loose a lot of weight during her lay season.
