Gravid?

Well, my little sweetheart rescue, Sunny, has done a lot of recovering and she has become extremely plump in the last few weeks! (Eating 2-3 superworms DAILY!)

I was considering a diet for her when.. Just for curiosity's sake.. I lifted her up and examined her belly. :main_robin: I discovered several very distinct egg shapes! I can feel them, too!

Is it even the time of season for eggs?

I have no idea of her history prior to me so I cannot tell whether or not she was with a male before I purchased her 3 months ago. How long do they retain sperm for and how can I check if the eggs are fertile?

Also - VERY IMPORTANT - When I first got her she had a very inflamed vent which has reduced itself to a small bump on either side of the opening. She's pooing fine and to spite my efforts it simply will not go away. Will she be okay laying eggs?

I just put an AFT pair together during the summer. The female was a rescue. They mated and she laid 2 clutches, none of which hatched. One thing that I noticed with her is that the egg shapes (at least at the time) seemed to be just forward from her vent, as opposed to the leopard geckos where I'd see the eggs much more forward. I continue to see egg shapes just forward of her vent, and she's getting very plump in that area, but she last laid eggs in July, shows no sign of being egg bound or uncomfortable. My point is,that she may just be gaining weight and not be gravid at all. Although AFT's resemble leos, there do seem to be some differences in body shape that I'm still trying to get used to.

It's all very close to the vent, definitely looks and feels like eggs.

I felt her tummy, felt like there were soft little eggs there.

well, ive never heard of feelin the tummy. but im curious to know if it works. lemme know what happens please.

I just did it because I know you can feel around for eggs in beardies. I guess we'll see. :O

Maybe she is just fat, who knows.

well it makes sense you could feel em, i would just be worried about hurting the eggs.
