Well, from breeding the enigmas this year, as many other breeders, we discovered that a lot of these geckos were het for something else but we did not know what. Well, in addition of getting het Trempers in the mix we discovered also this to be a het blizzard. We bred our larger male enigma het tremper to a blazing female and we hatched 1 blizzard, 1 blazing and enigma blizzard 100% het tremper right off the top. This animal was premature a little and I was hand feeding hm for a few times to make sure he would be fine and he dropped the tail in the process, as you can see he grew it back pretty fast and he is eating mealies like crazy on his own now. It actually has the looking of banana with the yellowish body, I know I am aasking too much from the luck I had already but you never know, :D
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any of these yet of this one is the first blizzard enigma?

Congrats Alberto! You are having some great luck ;)
I'm beginning to wonder if the enigma gene itself "unlocks" traits! Or either these enigmas are carrying all sorts of hidden "hets". You never know...the mack snow gene seems to "unlock" certain traits with other line bred snows (still kind of a theory...I guess). So many traits floating around now...keeps it interesting!

I hope i get Lucky like that with some of my Leos!!! Congrats on the Leo, i thought the Enigmas blizzard was kinda gonna look like a regular blizzard like the Mack x Blizzard does, But now i know, thanks for that. Glad to see it has a pattern!!!

I like how the dominant Enigma Gene overrides and covers the recessive Blizzard gene. It looks bizarre but in a good way. Alberto, besides being a great breeder you also have to be the luckiest gecko breeder going right now. You are producing some crazy news things this past year that continue to push the envelope. Good for you!

That's pretty cool Alberto! How lucky you were to end up with a male that was both het for Albino AND Blizzard! lol..
LOL, yes, I wish I knew that in advance, I would have got more blizzard females, ;)
Thanks guys for the compliments, this was a lucky shot though, lol.

Don't take this the wrong way, but what makes you certain it's a blizzard? It looks like a low color enigma to me.
Well, one thing for sure is that this is not a normal enigma when those hatch have some sort of pattern to them this one was born completely white with some black dots and also as I said I hatched 1 normal blizzard and one blazing from this cross, this is the only explanation I had for this young one and I am pretty sure. Neverthe less, I will have planty of chance to prove this out next season, ;)

Never say never bare in mind that you said it was born premature this could account for the coloring as a hatching. As premature normals look snow but they get there color a little later. Not ofcorse saying it is't.But also just to check have you had a proper look at the blizzard and blazing eyes what if enigma blizzard look like regular blizzard but have typical enigma eyes ? just somthing to consider.I'm maybe hoping more then anything that it not a enigma blizzard as a was hoping for a tremper blazing blizzard with orange eye with the body being spotless. But if that the way the genetic are playing this game congrat's and good luck with future breeding.

the male Enigma that I got from you in Hamm has the same genetics apparently from what you told me. We'll see what happens, I have three BB females for him.

Pretty cool looking animal!

Ours too LOL...but we will only try it out with one Blizzard female.
It will be very exiting next year...

blizzard enigma?

Hi Alberto. Funny thing, this year I hatched out this girl looking (phenotypically) nearly the same. Moreover she developed the same way like yours, meaning she was also a little premature and I had to do hand feeding for a short time.
