I collected some poop from one of my tanks tonight that looked a little greenish. It was solid, not runny at all. It was just kinda green.

what might this be a sign of?

Green, runny, and unusually stinky can be a sign of a bacterial infection.

If you are concerned that it is out of the ordinary, you should consult a Vet.

That is about the best that anyone can tell you.

That happens with a couple of my geckos when they eat their shed. It could be that considering it's solid. If it hasn't happened before then I would talk to a vet.

well he did just shed a day or two ago and I didn't watch him eat it, but I never found any skin. I bet that is what happened! thanks so much for that!

I went to a reptile vet yesterday with the same problem. She checked the stool sample for parasites, but couldn't find any. She is going to do some more testing on it, I'll keep you informed about the outcome!

Got a reply of the vet today and she says there are signs that it might be cryptosporidiosis. She'll make the medicines for the animals during the weekend, so the animals should be cured in a while. I keep you informed. The animals do eat themselves and don't seem to be bothered by the crypto, but I would feel a lot better knowing these little bastards are not living in my animals! ;-)

Im very sorry to hear you little one might have crypto :{ I work in a exotics vet here in PA, and to date here is no known cure for crypto. You should ask your vet to do a acid fast stain to confirm her thinkings of crypto.

She did a staining (not sure wich one) and I'm treading the animals with paromomycin at the moment. The stool looks ok again and the keep eating, so I think I might be lucky and in time with this one...
