I have been ordering from Grubco for over a year now and have had no problems up until this point. On sunday night(the 13th of May) I put in an order for 1000 small mealworms. When i order over the weekend they usually arrive on wednesday afternoon. After not receiving them wednesday, I sent an email to grubco and they replied saying my order would be shipped out thursday morning and would arrive on saturday due to a backorder.. I then called asking why customers with an order did not receive any notification of a backorder. The vice president told me she had hundreds of thousands of customers and she can not alert customers of backorders. After being talked to like a dog, i decided to cancel my order and find another worm company for my geckos. My family owns a t-shirt business and we have backorders quite frequently, but we always alert the customers. Also we do not talk to our customers like we do not care. It is a shame because I love the quality of grubco's mealies, but bad customer service from a vice president is enough for me to cancel my business.

If the president had of been polite, would you have still used them regardless of the backorder?

Since I needed my worms in a hurry I had to order from Georgia crickets(I live in Georgia), and I got my worms next day for normal shipping price. But if she had been respectful, then yes I would have continued ordering from grubco once the backorder was over. I politely asked her why I was not notified when I ordered them and her respond was "get over it we have other customers to take care of".

I have had the same thing happen to me twice before. They do not alert customers of back orders/delays. Really bad customer service.
I ordered my worms on a Monday. They usually arrive on Wednesday. I call Thursday and they said they would go out the following Monday. So I received the worms a week later than I expected. Which caused me to have to buy crickets locally and feed my geckos sparingly just so they wouldn't starve. I spent probably $30-40 on crickets to replace a $20 order of meal worms....

We use Grubco a lot and other than a few minor issues they've been really good for us. Things are bound to happen from time to time with any business that has gotten as big as they have. I'm sure if you call them they'll try to make this up to you, so give em another try. There are other good bug companies out there and it's good to have a few to rotate your biz with. Call Sherita at Grubco and tell her I recommended that you try them again and I'm sure she'll accomodate you....she's great and always has been very helpful.

This is a big reason why we try to keep our gecko business on a smaller, specialized scale....then we never lose that focus on individualized customer service.

Sherita is the lady who was so rude to me and my girlfriend. I understand that they are very successful and have a lot of customers on their hand. I have no doubt that she has been nice to many people. But, her rudeness turned me to another feeder.

That is shocking. She has always been A-1 with us. Guess everyone has a bad day now and then....

One thing I've learned in life is to give people the benefit of the doubt, or a bad day once. But if I get burned twice in business it's "see ya later". I'd give them a second try, but that's just me...
