Who bought it and for what console?

I went out Mon/Tues at midnight to snag it. I bought it for the 360, since most of my friends will be on live (my poor PS3 has been a paperweight). I was able to play it for a little before I went to bed, and a little yesterday as well. I have maybe 2.5 hours into it.

What do you think of it, is it holding up to the extremely high reviews?

I must say the little I have played I'm enjoying myself. The graphics are better, but not spectacular. I realize it's a huge game, but it does look decent when you take the time to really look around. I don't want to spoil anything, but my only complaint is the cellphone. Is it me or is it hard to read? I tweaked the graphics settings and it's helped a little, but it's still really dark. Also, where are the dirt bikes and the really sweet sport cars hiding!

Anyways, that's about it. I have another 7 hours to wait until I can get back home :D Stupid work, hurry up.

My son wants me to buy it for him now but hold it till he's 18.....LOL he's 10. By that time I'm not sure the console he'd play it on will still be working. He played the first one a long time ago and it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. I got the last one for his PSP and ended up taking it away after realizing the rating had gone up so high and after listening to the language on it. But he sure has learned to appreciate mommy's music from the radio stations on it!! LOL

The stations are always perfect, and the commercials are the best. They really make the game.

I will say this game is pretty rough, and the language is nonstop. The game isn't all about that though. It's not any different than a movie, and that's really what they're going for anyways. A completely unique city and story that immerses you into the game play (like the feel of a movie).

I do think some younger teens should be fine with the game. Everyone is at different maturity levels, so if you've read some reviews and talked, it should be fine for some under 17. A 10 year old however, yes, I'm with you. Wait a little while :)

I picked up the special edition for the ps3 yesterday which came with a safe deposit box, duffel bag, soundtrack, and art book.

Didn't get a chance to play it until late last night but I did enjoy it. I graphics were good (I was expecting more though) but then again you have an entire city in there. Music is great .. but I do think the voice acting was done incredibly well.

The game mechanics seem a little better tuned compared to previous installments.

Anyways, I only got a couple hours in. So far I like it. This should hold me over until Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out.

5-6 months each on the first two until they crapped out I would estimate. The third/new one has been fine. They beefed up the fans/cooling, I think that was the issue before. Now it's loud as hell, but at least it runs fine.

Everything was handled with the warranty, it just stinks to loose your 360 for a little. They also extended their warranty with all of these issues. I think it's 3 years now vs the original 1. I also bought an extra year warranty before they extended it, so I have 4 years.

iv had the red ring of death on mines twice, the 2nd time they just sent me a new xbox, i did manage to get 1 months xbox live free for compensation but i dont feel this is enough when they know there is a problem with the machines, if it goes again im going to demand one of the black ones or i will tell them i will pack my 360 up and trade it in for a ps3, i have a ps3 but the threat may help me get what i want :D
