gut loading

Ok so I have this recipe for homemade gut loader and I love it, and a friend of mine told me to add dehydrated veggies to the mix. But when I went out to look for dehydrated veg they all had onions in the mix. So heres the question: can onion be fed to mealies as gut loader for my geckos? I am asking because I know it is toxic to Dogs/Cats/Birds. So would it also be toxic for my geckos?

Thanks

I would not add the dehydrated veggies instead add vitamins and minerals and that should take the place of the dehydrated veggies. I dont think dehydrated veggies have that much nutrition so it would most likely be nothing. I would try mash potato mix, but would be careful with grain mites and stufff( am paranoid now!!) I am sorry I couldnt ask the union question, maybe someone else could, but if no one knows I wouldnt experiment.

Forget the dried veggies, just throw some potatoes slices in now and then... good for moisture and nutrition. I also throw in carrots now and then. My feeders are eating healthier than I do. :)

fresh veggies and fruit is all i give my feeders. After two days what hasnt been eaten is removed. Start all over again. My feeders are also eating better then me, at least eating more veggies.

We decided not to do the dried veggies. This is my gutload mix:
Rolled Oats
Red Brad
White Bran
Spirulina Fish Flakes
12 grain cereal
skim milk powder
Calcium
Sticky Tongues Vitamins and minerals

And fresh carrots as we need to add it.
