I'm thinking about getting this for my adult leo. Are these safe/worth the cost of $18.00? If so, would the medium size one fit my 55 gram leo? Anyone have any experience with these rocks? Thanks!

I'm also curious about these. How easy is the outer piece to remove? How much lights gets inside through the glass? I really like the idea.

I have one. I had to take it out because my leo was addicted to it. She never came out of it. As far as I could tell. Also you need to be super careful, I've gotten my fingers pinched by the two halves more than once. The magnets are super powerful. And it's not easy to get it off your hand when it's stuck to one. Very painful. I keep it under my futon now to capture, the one gecko when she escapes. (I fixed the lid so she doesn't now.) But she went in there twice.

The rock (inside part) has to be resting on the floor to work. It can't just be in the air on the side of the tank.

I will be puting this on my second level resting an a slate tile. Will I need to tape it down on the inside just to be safe? Do you have a picture of yours in action?

Not sure if I would put it on the second level. Mine (I bought the large one for some unfathomable reason) works amazingly and Rin is addicted to it as well but I've noticed that the magnets aren't as strong as when I got it a year ago. The tile has made it so that the cave is actually higher then the lip of the tank so now theres a little gap at the top of the cave. So, to make a long story short, I'm not sure if the lid would still work if it didn't have anything to rest on.

Mine loves hers! She is in it all the time. You have to be careful not to bang them together because of the magnitism. I have put a bit of tape on the magnits on the part of the rock on the outside of the tank. Make sure the rock on the inside is flush agains the glass otherwise the leo can get his tail stuck. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the help. I have it now, in the tank, on the second level. My only problem is trying to stabilize the inside piece. I used some tape for the top and some paper towel on the bottom. How do you stabilize yours?
