Half-digested insects & lethargy.

Over the course of the last two weeks or so, unusual lethargy & "iffy" acceptance of food seems to have stricken my gecko, (Khalil) and when I last tried to handle him (last Sunday), he was actually sleeping for a solid 3 or 4 minutes or so (which is out of character for him.) This was on top of displaying a general lack of mobility for the first twenty minutes.

He didn't even come out of his den the last 2 times, which I thought nothing of until last Sunday's routine handling, when he simply went to sleep in front of me for about 4 minutes. Next red-flags happened today as well, as he refused food after having gone without for longer than usual, alongside the discovery of half-digested insect mass behind some cork-bark.

No major changes have recently occurred to Khalil's life, so I believe stress can be ruled out, and the surface temperature of his heated-shelter generally comes in at 93+. As of the past few days though, it's been getting to be a constant 99-100 F on the surface of the heated-shelter, but I have a cooler shelter on the opposite end of the basking-zone. (But that probably wouldn't entirely rule out extra heat.)

Currently, I'm "waiting it out" to see if this is just something that will pass in time, but I come here to ask if I'm unintentionally trying to "wait out and observe" something that isn't going to resolve itself with time alone.

with those types of symptoms i would try to get him to a vet as soon as you can. that type of lethargy is not normal and the half digested bugs are regurgitated (thrown up) which is not a good sign

Lpac - food has been refused since yesterday. His tail is still a healthy thickness.

Rampant - Bringing heat down to a standard 90-95 is one part of my to do list, although I'll probably be doing this earlier than I had originally intended, seeing that food has been regurgitated.

Well if you get the heat down and he still is regurgitating and/or have bad poo then I would be very concerned. It may fix itself it may not. Give it a week or so at a good temperature and if things dont improve then vet visit is the next step.

Sounds like a good idea - I'll follow up on the advice, and see what happens.
