Handling - Awkward position

So, Sauron was hanging out on my shirt today and everything was going great. He was all calm and relaxed just chillin. Then he gets this bright idea. He crawls around onto my back, and the clever little prankster got right in that spot where you can never reach. Had to get a roomamte to corale him back to my front so i could get him. XD

I can't be the only one that this has happened to...How do you get them back off or around to the front??

When the little buggers decide they want to hide in your bra or crawl up your pants, *that's* when it gets awkward. :tongue3:

When he hides between my shoulderblades I just wait for him to move. If he seems too comfy, I poke at his head or body, or wriggle around until he decides it's no fun sitting there anymore. I make sure I'm sitting down though, or else he'll jump off and go splat.

This happens to me all the time...if the poking and making them not wanna sit there anymore doesn't work i just lean over my bed and kind of make him plop off, not a long distance, just right there on my bed...and then get him before he takes off to hide in the sheets...

but they sure do like to climb on the back...it's like they know what they are doin and think it's funny...:p

I haven't got there yet with my Leo. He does try to walk up my arm shoulder but I don't let him yet as I don't know what he's gonna do up there. I let him on the floor and I sit with my legs in a circle. He was eyeballing the heel of my foot so I kinda leaned over a little bit. He yawned and it scared the crap outta me I thought henwas about to chomp down on my foot. Lol that was uncomfortable thinking my heel was about to get pierced..

Bites are more rare than a forum will make them seem. Naturally anytime someone gets bit they post it. But they aren't common and that one with all the blood is even more unusual, that was just luck.

I had a corn snake before the Leo...Those don't bite much eithier but their still a bigger risk than Leos are.

My biggest concern with the Leo is not scaring him so bad he drops his tail.

Awwww, he yawned? :sweetheart:
Yeah, they're not like hamsters - they don't just walk over and bite you because you're there. And as you've noticed, if they bite you by accident they'll often let go right away.
And um ... your heel? Unless you sit around all day taking bubble baths and eating bon-bons, I'm guessing your heel's way too thick for a gecko to do anything to. I mean, if I can step on a tack and not feel it, a wee bitty leo trying to get his jaws around my foot would probably be more amusing or ticklish than anything. ;)

I am a guy so i lean over my bed and carefully take my shirt off and lay and down and retrieve the gecko haha
Lucky. :( :tongue3:

Though I have gotten to the point where I had to get my arms out of my sleeves and my shirt hiked up pretty far in order to get a leo who decided to camp out under my armpit. :main_rolleyes:

I usually move my shirt around... either lifting it enough so I can grab the leo or pushing it down so that the collar of the shirt is on my neck making it so I can gently push/poke or get the leo.

This happens alllll the time. Like almost a daily ritual if not more often than that!

my worry was just, if I reach back there and try to prode him back around what am I poking? XD

I've got two options. I accidently poke his eye, or I mess with his tail which they don't like.

Use the flat of you hand and you can't poke his eye, don't press too hard and it won't be a problem if you hit his tail.

Or you can take off your shirt. :tongue3:

He was closer to my tendon I dint want to try to spell it because it will be wrong. My heel is like sandpaper so it wouldn't hurt there. He could of got that tendon tho with the way he was standing.
It was funny after he moved, I thought he was gonna chomp me a good one. I'm sure if he would of grabbed that tendon it would of hurt.

Well ... maybe not society so much as a) people in the house or very near your open windows, and b) It'll mess up your hair. :tongue3:

I can reach him (*usually*), but in order to bring him around to the front I'd have to turn my hand upside-down with him in it. Not brave enough to try that one yet, he's a slippery devil.
