I'm at my wits end.

I bought my gecko around 3 months ago, for the first month he was fine, and would eat maybe 4 crickets a night.

Since then I don't think he has eaten more than 1 every few days. His tail is thin. I was told he was 4 months old when I got him, which would now make him 8 months old. He looks exactly the same.

He's still active and defecating fine . I tried putting both mealworms and silkworms in the viv, he didn't touch either of them. I've raised his temperatures... nothing works.

He's on paper towels, so he cant be impacted... My friend suggested he may be brumating, which was why I raised the temperatures, but it didn't seem to make a difference (warm end is now at 92F)

Sorry to clog up your forum with another eating thread :(

He is eating yes, but hardly anything - and the pooping is same as the eating, not much, but he's doing it.

At his tales widest I would say it's pretty close to the same width as his neck...

I see these pictures of massive tales and worry :(

well some leo's are born to be huge lol the width of a neck is'nt to bad

i think maybe a vet vist and as soon as the warmer weather come's around she should be eating more as long as she's getting something in her stomach the she should be fine

and if she keep loosing weight then it might defo be parasitic

My Tiamat is a dainty girl and her tail is maybe a little bit thicker than her neck. She hardly eats as well especially this time of year. It sounds as though you're doing everything right and she is most likely just brumating. One of mine has gone hardcore on the brumating thing and even though I have stablized her temperatures she is still not eating properly - or even pooping!

If you are really concerned, take her in to see a vet. But overall she sounds like she is doing fine, if a bit of a nibbler. :) How does her feces look? Do they look normal or smeary or runny? Are they of a different color than they usually are? (Keeping in mind that once a month or so, her feces may look kinda pale because she has eaten her shed.)

If he is still the same i'd say he is healthy. I have a male that doesn't eat much either but his tale his thick still for some reason.

One of my females is like that, her tail isn't skinny. But her body isn't as wide as i would like. I think that the cold weather takes a little part of it. Light stays on constantly, but the air conditioning is near it.
my other female is HUGE on the other hand (not over weight). I would wait till it warms up and see how her appetite is.
